Ultraman

Ultraman

Ultraman (ウルトラマン Urutoraman) is a character featured in tokusatsu (special effects) tv programs in Japan. Ultraman made his first public appearance in the "Tokusatsu" Superhero/Kaijyu/SF TV series.
Ultraman: A Retro sfx Series (ウルトラマン 空想特撮シリーズ Urutoraman: Kusou Tokusatsu Shirizu), a spin-off to the tv series Ultra Q. The show was produced by Tsuburaya Productions and broadcasted by TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) with a total of 39 episodes (40, counting the pre-premiere special that aired on July 10, 1966) from July 17, 1966 to April 9, 1967,
Although Ultraman is the first chain to feature an "Ultra-being" in size, power and capability, in fact it is the second Ultra Series. Ultra Q was the first. It was a major pop culture event in Japan, the show has spawned dozens of copy cats as well as numerous sequels and remakes, which continue to be popular today.
Ultraman is referred to as the 初代ウルトラマン Shodai Urutoraman (original Ultraman ) or the first Ultraman.

 Ultra Seven

Ultra Seven (ウルトラセブン Urutora Sebun) is a superhero featured in a "Tokusatsu" Superhero/Kaijyu/SF TV series of the same name. He first debuted in Ultra Seven (the third Ultra Series and the second to feature an Ultra Being), the famous tokusatsu SF TV series was produced by Tsuburaya Productions and broadcasted by TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System). Followed up to Ultraman went on to become one of Japan's greatest tokusatsu Retro sfx TV episode. Such is his recognition that Ultra Seven (or simply 'Seven') has made appearance or at least made cameos in almost all Ultra Series following his own and has had far more acknowledgment than even the original Ultraman (still the original Ultraman is the face of the Ultras without a doubt ).
Ultra Seven is sometimes mistakenly called "Ultraman Seven" by many sources outside Japan. Both the show and its hero can also be called Ultraseven (without a space), which is generally the form used when romanized.

The Return of Ultraman

Ultraman Returned (帰ってきたウルトラマン Kaettekita Urutoraman, roughly meaning "Ultraman Returned") is a tokusatsu SF/kaiju/superhero TV series, and is the 4th Ultra Series.
The Creater (Eiji Tsuburaya) originally intended for the Ultra Series to end with Ultraseven series, but Ultraman was too popular to keep down. After Eiji passed away in 1970, his son Hajime Tsuburaya (who took over Tsuburaya Productions until his death in 1973) {revive|resurrect|revitalize}d the Ultra Series with Ultraman Retuned.
The new Ultraman was named "New Ultraman" (新ウルトラマン Shin Urutoraman?), or just "Kaettekita Ultraman" (帰ってきたウルトラマン), just as the show's title. In 1984, however, he was renamed "Ultraman Jack" (ウルトラマンジャック) after Tsuburaya and Bandai (one of the largest toy companies in Japan) held a {contest|competition|challenge|game} for children to pick a new name for this Ultraman. Although he is called "Ultraman Jack" for licensing  issues in and out of Japan, To me he is still "New Ultraman"/"Kaettekita Ultraman",
While nearly identical in appearance to the original Ultraman, the red pattern on his silver suit is slightly different, and he can be distinguished by his shorter "pants", fuller "sleeves" and "kneepads", and pinstripes along the red areas.
Also of note is that Ultraman Jack is one of the few Ultraman/Ultras that requires no device to transform. Hideki Gô, the human host for New Ultraman, just raises his hands to transform at will when New Ultraman signals him to do so (or sometimes against his will in a very desperate situation!).

ウルトラマンレオUltraman Leo

Ultraman Leo (ウルトラマンレオ Urutoraman Reo?) is a Japanese tokusatsu TV show and is the 7th show in the Ultra Series. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, Ultraman Leo was aired between April 12, 1974 to March 28, 1975, with a total of 51 episodes.
Ultraman Leo comes from Nebula L77 (Leo constellation), and takes the human form of Gen Otori. Ultraseven appears to fight a new foe, Alien Magma and his two "pets", the Red and Black Gillas. Ultimately, Ultraseven is greatly overpowered and his leg is graphically broken by Black Gillas. Ultraman Leo drives off the foes, but Ultraseven is confined to his human form because of his injury. The Ultra Eye is destroyed when Dan attempts to transform, and Dan takes up a role as the captain of Monster Attacking Crew. Gen is a gymnastics teacher on the side. Gen and Dan regularly train together, allowing Ultraman Leo to learn many moves in human form. Mid-series, Dan vanishes after his Ultra Eye is repaired, and MAC is destroyed by Silver Bloom, a saucer monster that belongs to Commander Black. Gen, unemployed, spends most of his time later training the kids to defend themselves. When Commander Black captures Gen when he cannot transform compeltely, Gen as Leo is dismembered, only to be brought back to life by Ultraman King. Leo would face Black's final monster, Black End, with the kids he trained, of whom the latter kill Black, and hand the sphere used to control Black End to Leo. Finishing his mission, Gen tosses the Lion Ring into the sea and sets off to tour Earth, his "second home".
